Ok, wearing masks isn’t that bad. I don’t really like showing my face anyway. I am a bit claustrophobic but the masks don’t really affect that. I don’t get it when some people say that the mask makes them claustrophobic but that’s ok. I’m not really in their body so I don’t know what they’re feeling. I also like the mask because you can be really mad at people and stick your tongue out at them or something like that and they will never know. So that’s cool. All in all I don’t think the masks were the main problem this year for me.
I can deal with not changing classes that much. I actually like it. It feels like baby steps towards the next year. We only move for one class so we can get used to it. It’s like a mini practice run. We obviously wouldn’t have gotten that in 5th grade so I’m glad we’re getting it now. I like to look on the bright side. The lockers, however, I’m a bit upset about. It doesn’t really matter that much, it definitely wasn’t the biggest let down from these past years during Covid but I was really looking forward to decorating my locker. I even had the blueprint. It’s ok though it’s not that bad we still get to do it next year. It’s just kinda sucky.
RECESS! Ok we aren’t really going to have recess time in 7th grade and I don’t think we were even going to have it in 6th so that’s lucky. But I hate the outdoor rules. You can take your mask off in an enclosed room but outside in the open air you can’t? How does that even make any sense or a difference? Also the whole thing about not being able to use soccer balls or basketballs or jump ropes or anything like that is, in my opinion, stupid. I’m sorry I just think it is. Like I see why they did it but at the same time I don’t. It is proven that Covid doesn’t usually spread through surfaces, it spreads through the air. And you kick a soccer ball. With your feet. How is it going to give us Covid? Through our shoes and sock and spread up our legs and into our mouths? Mmm… don’t think so.
People have basically gotten me through this. But some of them have made it really worse. Some days everyone is amazing. And other days you don’t wanna talk to anyone. My parents are the best but they’re also the worst. It was also annoying to actually have to be around them 24/7. I’m pretty sure Broadway kept me sane. And even that was taken away. Which is terrible for the actors. I feel bad because a lot of people have it worse than me and I’m out here complaining about the little things. I hope things can bounce back to exactly where we left off. I’ll leave you with my favorite quotes from my favorite movies and musicals.
